Early life of Reinhard Heydrich
Born in the German city of Halle, near Leipzig on March 7, 1904, Reinhard Eugen Tristan Heydrich was raised in a cultured, musical environment. His dad was a profound opera singing while his mother was a very talented and well known pianist. Reinhard trained very hard for the violin and developed a lifelong attachment to this instrument which gave him an opportunity to unwind whilst he was living his very hard life.
Reinhard’s family grew up in a wealthy home, very elegantly structured and accompanied by I high social status in the community in which they lived. He was a renowned target in the school yard for bullies. There were many things that he got teased for, his high-pitched voice, his unhealthy addiction to his violin, his size and stature and for a rumour which said that he had Jewish ancestry which in German communities at the time was harshly looked down on.
His life at home was just as struggling as his life at school. Despite his wealth and suspected to be spoilt, his mother strongly believe in harsh discipline making his life a living hell. He excelled in sport and academics eventually going on to be the national fencing champion for his home country. A winning spirit was present in is blood. Despite all these hard times at school and at home he finally pulled through and received his high school diploma in the spring of 1922.
Not being strong enough to join the army he joined an anti-communist group of ex-soldiers who violently fought the rule of communist on the streets of his home country. This set him up for what was to come later in his life as a Nazi general. Fighting in this group honed his skills to became the great general he was infamously known for, the group taught him enemy weaknesses, How to handle and use weapons to the best of their abilities and different styles of approaching an attack.
