2 names that came up in the extensive resaearch of Heydrichs assassination and these were Jan Kubiš and Josef Gabčík. These 2 well trained men had recieved extensions teachings from the Europe Government in techniques significant to Europe. Jan and Josef were sent to a German run town in December 1941 to investigate before the assassination was undertaken. They extensively studied and recorded reinhards movements and day to day activities so that one day they would be able to predict what he would do and catch him off gaurd. On May 27th
they got Reinhard at an unknown place and apparantly shot him from close range and triggered extensive bleeding from reinhards arm. The initial blow howver, did not kill him. Instead he died a few days later in from theinfected wound.
The 'luckyness' that reinhard happened to die from a wound instead of the initial attack is nothing but questionable. questions rose about a kife being used to poison Reinhard and kill him a number of days later but no evidence was available at the time to make such accusations.
After Reinhards Funeral, Hitler ordered for the complete destruction of the village of lidice, the town was blown up and burnt to the ground killing every single one of the people left behind. The village of lidice was infamous to the Nazi party for harbouring Jews in the world war, a town in which hitler highly despised. Hilter, in public was known to like Heydrich but when Heydrich started involving himself with the town of Lidice he became supicious of treason against Hitler. This would have been enough reason for Hitler to organize an assassination on the General Heydrich and decimate the village which he despised for a long time.
The assassination from all angles of controversy was incredibly successful, sparking the attacks on village woud have been good for the Europpe government and Hitler so both sides win. The way that it was carried out leaving little evidence to go on was an expert job. the 2 supposed assassins escaped and lived on to see another day.
